Edmonton home builders working 'flat out' to meet demand

Edmonton home builders say they are working non-stop to meet a demand they haven’t seen since the boom of 2005.

“Right now we're running flat out, we’re building as much as we can,” said Rob Busby, construction manager for Landmark Homes.9 Z/ \( n5 Y" K! m; N. R

The increased demand is due to strong job and population growth, according to Christina Butchart, senior analyst with the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.4 j# @ O2 n" Z& C
! u* V5 O/ ]1 q8 Z; k ~* C“If you look at the number of people who are moving into Edmonton, it’s record high levels so that’s contributing to that expanding demand,” she said.
