To qualify for an Alberta Qualification Certificate based on work experience, a person must:. `" w1 }! B2 P& ^. t! Q& t
1 Q4 S. J9 ]4 l( k8 Khave at least 8,775 hours and 72 months of ‘hands-on’ work experience as an electrician . u7 g5 {4 u7 N. J: T
Time spent on supervisory or foreman duties, counter work, heading the tool crib, or on a training course is NOT counted as ‘hands-on’ work experience.' x+ C8 n) [, V7 K6 F1 f" [

complete the Qualification Certificate - Work Experience Application and submit it to an Apprenticeship and Industry Training Office) \+ P+ j" `& z8 W. m

pay the non-refundable fees as identified on the application noted above - k" a* q& ]; M
This application fee covers the verification and assessment of the applicant's work experience hours/months as well as one attempt at the Qualification Certificate theory examination. The Qualification Certificate practical examination requires a separate fee as identified on the application noted above.
