1. I listen CAREFULLY how native speaks certain sounds and try to mimic it.
2. Then I read a paragraph and record my reading, listen to my reading and spot the difference.
3. also I tend to pronounce the vowel sound loud and with mouth open big enough
4. always remember to pronounce the stop consonants (e.g. t, p,k, d,p,b.. at the end of the word). As these consonants never put at the end of a pronunciation in Chinese language, we china's people always have problem with them. We tend to eat them that cause confusion, as this is very important in differentiating two similar words, e.g. bad and bat.
5. Pay attention to the multiple-syllabus word. e.g. bad has only one syllabus, but word "Apartment" has two syllabuses connecting with a "t". Most of us eat the "t".

Thank you so much, my friend. Your suggestions are really usefully. I begin to improve my pronouciation today, from a,b,c d.... haha, from the very beginning, I mean.I wish I can solve my problem within 1 year.

great. I have problem for L and N, I knew it and did everything you suggested, but still could not pronounce L and N clearly

I found out it is so difficult for me to improve my pronunciation due to my age of 30-40.But like the upper one said, practice of 20 minutes a day is a big help. Maybe it wouldn't improve your pronunciation a lot,but definitely will improve your speaking. I used to speak out along the PeiPei English in the car while driving to office every morning.My speaking was much better at that time.I was getting hook.If I didn't do it that morning,I couldn't speak well at the whole day. Unfortunately after I got a new job which is very close my apartment, I can only do 5 minutes a day now. I feel my speaking has hardly progressed. Can any one tell me what is the best time and location for you to do the practice?

楼上的观点基本同意。
中国人说英语：
在单词发音本身，一个是注意重音在哪，这很关键；第二是注意那些在汉语里没有的音，例如 th, v , 还有L 在词尾的发音，等等。第三注意说话先把每个单词尽量都发准了。
不言追求快的语速，不然别人会听不懂。不过英语口语提高需要时间，不是短期能提高的。注意西人说话的语调，只要自己注意，一定能会提高的比较快。另外，如果有和加拿大本地人说话的机会，一定不要放过。本人的体会是ESL时口语提高的最慢。
呵呵，一点体会。

谢谢楼上的建议。我同意你的观点。口语是进步比较慢。准确的说是发音进步的比较慢。我说中文也快，英语也快，不大好改这个毛病。一些音，在有些词中发的好，另外的就不行了。真的好挫折。最近开始从26个字母学起，自学一段时间，条件许可了参加一个培训班

另外，我很喜欢大家探讨一些具体的方法，太GENERAL的，大家都知道，实在是没有什么帮助

英语的48个音标，跟汉语发音系统完全不同。即使有类似的，口腔，舌肌的动作也完全不同。
