so a long dark and cold night?!

someone told me that it is dark at 14:00 in Edmonton's winter. If u haven't a car, u have to hibernate at home and can't almost do anything. Is it right? Is the weather so scared?

冬天4:00--5:00左右开始天黑。即使最冷的时候出门的人也很多，没那么可怕。
